Meet Francesco

Clinical Psychologist, PhD Candidate | 15+ years of experience

I was born and raised in Italy, where my journey into psychology and psychotherapy began. After completing my degree in Clinical Psychology, I pursued postgraduate training in Systemic Therapy, working alongside pioneers in systemic family therapy, and later specialised in Clinical Sexology.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve worked as a psychologist supporting individuals, couples, and families through a wide range of mental health and relationship challenges. I’m also a PhD Candidate at University of Melbourne (Research Project in Videoconferencing Psychotherapy)

My Approach

My approach is grounded in warmth, empathy, and genuine curiosity.

I offer a non-judgemental space where people feel safe to explore their thoughts, emotions, communication, and relationship patterns.

I draw from Systemic Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and specialised interventions for eating disorders, including CBT-E and FBT.

My Background

I’m currently completing a PhD at the University of Melbourne, where my research focuses on Videoconferencing Psychotherapy and how technology shapes the therapeutic relationship. This work directly informs my clinical practice, particularly in delivering therapy via telehealth.

Alongside my clinical work, I’m training to become a Board-Approved Supervisor. I’m passionate about collaborative care and have worked closely with GPs, psychiatrists, and allied health professionals to offer integrative, person-centred support.
